Sustainable Development of the Society starts with Youth!

Through the project Sustainable Development of the Society starts with Youth we will strengthen contribution of associations to sustainable development (SD) through training of secondary school students on principles of SD and encourage their inclusion in life of local communities in Zagreb, Rijeka, Split and Osijek.

Young people are driving forces of each society and their active participation in social life is a generator of development. For personal development of students, it is important that their attitude towards information and knowledge is critical. We will develop this by applying different strategies of teaching for critical thinking and through their activities in school and community.

Teachers will be educated so that they can, in synergy with associations, encourage future generations reflect and be more involved in SD of their community.

Main activities:

  • SD Academy for teachers
  • Education of students on SD and volunteering
  • Involvement of 500 students in activities in schools and community volunteering
  • Educational package, which can be used in other schools.

Replication of the outcomes is possible in other schools. Sustained effect will be achieved through Curriculum for SD, educational materials, volunteer clubs, etc.
